What’s This All About?

This blog is not going to tell you about the wonders of how to get your pages ranked well in a search engine, it’s going to sum up what the search engines are currently up to.

What for example are their current PPC policies?  Warning: Theirs another algo change coming up on google, or shock horror googles attempting to take over the world (why else do you think i’m using wordpress.com and not blogger )

It’s nothing serious and you should never – ever take my word or anything over this topic as i’m not perfect.

So, why exactly i’m a doing this?  I give one simple reason, unusually I love search engines, i’m interested in the technology behind search engines, interested in what makes them tick and all that kind of stuff,  I did think of writing one once, got as far as a lame crawler in perl before I gave up.

For an ex-affiliate I actually quite like Google, from a technilogical standpoint – Google is genious when you look at the numbers it crunches and at the speed with which it returns the results.

To sum up, i’m fascinated by search engine technology and about all the curve balls they occasionaly throw and I love trying to understand the reasoning behind algo changes as from researching how a search engine works to actually using them.  Search Engines are quite simply – fascinating.!!!
